SOME SILLY PHOTOS

 The beautiful pink Peony flower is almost as big as my head.  I had planted these  years ago and enjoy them every year.  They have a faint but very  sweet scent. When they are budding they tend to attract ants partly due to the nectar that forms on the outside of the bud. With the ants activities the blossoms open up. Very symbiotic relationship isn't it?   This year they were beautiful and plentiful. The flowers were so big that I had to put them  in a bowl of water instead of a vase just  to keep them from  toppeling over.



My husband's favorite trellis. It took us a while to get the rambling roses to climb to the top.   

This fern is a transplant from my dad's yard . Few years ago he gave me a few shoots to plant. First  I planted them  at a sunny location they looked miserable, following year I planted them in the shade and their growth  was stunted. Last year I planted them at the bottom of a tree where they were partially in the sun. I think  I finally succeeded in finding them the  right spot. 

I'm not very lucky growing Iris. I must have planted variety of colors over the years, most of them didn't come up. This is the only one that came up this year.

MORE FLOWERS

 We are having a heat wave here in the US and  I haven't cooked either  in the kitchen or on the BBQ lately(toooo hot..). We eat healthy cold salads and drink lots of beverages. I'm hoping that this situation will soon abate because my husband says that with all the vegetables he is consuming he feels like a rabbit... Maybe that's why he is in the garden taking pictures of the flowers!!!

A BUTTERFLY AND GARDEN FLOWERS

 Look at this Monarch butterfly flittering around the flowers. My husband was able to catch its movements. It was probably attracted to that butterfly plant.

 

FROM HIS HEART AND GARDEN

Whether he'll admit to it or not,  my husband is a hopeless romantic. When I came down for  breakfast I saw these flowers  on the table with a note from him thanking me for the nice meal I served him last night. He picked the flowers fresh from our back yard, just for me.

APRIL SHOWERS AND MY FLOWERS

I recently recieved these flowers I couldn't help but fall in love with their colors. Aren't they amazing????

Just look at these colors...

Have you seen two (2)  tulips on one stem????? Look carefully and you'll see that not only that they grew on one stem,  their colors are different too..... 

My husband gave me this beautiful African Violet. Look at their delicate lavender border

This wild violet is from my back yard. It draws a lot of attention from the rabbit who lives in the neighborhood

AMARYLLIS

I thought my Amaryllis was done for the winter, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that after a short hiatus it blossomed to be just as perfect as before.

CHRISTMAS CACTUS

I bought this plant a few years ago from a super market for 3 or 4 dollars . I never thought that it would be around all these years, blossoming year after year during the winter. It is such a joy to see its beautiful flowers quietly opening and just as quietly withering and being replaced by new ones.

AMARYLLIS

I love these flowers. They are exotic and easy to grow indoors. They are perennial. After the foliage is gone the bulb can be removed and stored indoors to be replanted for the new season. One year I was able to grow it in my garden. It sure was a pleasant surprise.

WELCOME AUTUMN

When my husband brought this bough from our Dogwood tree, I couldn't belive that a whole summer just passed us by. Happy Autumn everyone.

A BOUQET FOR YOU

I came up with this bouquet after getting inspired by my summer flowers. I had planted these day lilies years ago. They come up year after year. Their colors are so vivid that I thought I should match the water with a few drops of red and yellow food coloring and I achieved the color I was looking for.

SIGHT TO BEHOLD

This year my Wisteria plant decidedly grew forward and has many more flowers. You have to be in the vicinity to take in the delicious aroma. What a sight to behold.

Spring is here but where is the sun?

Isn't it interesting that Nature doesn't wait for anything? These Lilies of the Valley are blossoming in my garden despite the bad weather. They are so fragrant it gives my room a sweet aroma. I placed them in a little coffee mug and tied a red bow for added joy.
