MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR
I made this little arrangement from my garden plants. With the addition of couple of golden balls it looks very festive. The Holly bush in my back yard has become a large tree. It gives beautiful berries and is still growing. I usually incorporate them in most of my floral arrangements.

OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARNESS MONTH

DON'T FORGET TO GO FOR YOUR ANNUAL MAMMOGRAPHY

WICKED!!! WICKED!!!!!!

For my husband's birthday, our friends invited us to see the Broadway musical "Wicked". It was a balmy autumn evening in New York. The play was breathtaking. The story line was novel with a surprising twist. The singing was superb. The stage sets and lighting effects were dazzling. All in all it was "wickedly" entertaining.

HOPALONG (Tale of "The Uneasy Rider")

One morning we were travelling from our home to our office and noticed that we had an unexpected passenger which was hitching a ride with us. It was a green grasshopper. I took these pictures as we were driving. We named it Hopalong, "the uneasy rider". It clung on the outside windshield through out the 23 mile 45 minute drive. It must have been a harrowing experience for it because we went through highways and byways at high speeds, sharp turns , bumps and gusting winds. Lo and behold when we parked in front of the office it was still on the windshield. Much to our amazement it was still on the windshield when we made same return trip home 8 hours later. When we parked in our driveway Hopalong jumped off the windshield on to the grass, home at last.......

AMARYLLIS

I thought my Amaryllis was done for the winter, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that after a short hiatus it blossomed to be just as perfect as before.

CHRISTMAS CACTUS

I bought this plant a few years ago from a super market for 3 or 4 dollars . I never thought that it would be around all these years, blossoming year after year during the winter. It is such a joy to see its beautiful flowers quietly opening and just as quietly withering and being replaced by new ones.
